Disney has announced that all Disney Parks and Resorts will be closing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. And just like that, all Disney Parks worldwide have come to a screeching halt. This is a serious situation affecting the entire world so this comes as little surprise but it is very noteworthy as the parks and resorts have never been closed indefinitely such as this before. The news comes as the CDC recommended no gatherings of more than 45 people which has since been escalated to restrict most gatherings of any size.

Disney World’s last day of operation until the foreseeable future is Sunday, March 15, 2020. An opening date has not been announced and is not easily speculated.

It appears Disney will also be halting construction on any ongoing construction or new developments. This includes but is not limited to: Cinderella Castle’s Royal Makeover, Tron: Lightcycle: Run, Epcot Overhaul, etc. Unfortunately this situation going to get worse before it gets better. It’s important to be prepared and not panic. Stock up on food, medicine, supplies etc. if you need to self-quarantine. And remember, while most of us are self-quarantining in our homes, we’re all in this together! Our best Disney memories still lie ahead of us!
