Walt Disney's Plane

Walt Disney’s plane, the one he used to scout and plan the future location of the “Florida Project,” which eventually became known as Walt Disney World, is being packed up and prepared to ship to Anaheim California for the upcoming D23 Expo. Our good friend @bioreconstruct noticed activity happening around the plane’s tail and engines:

As you can see in the photo above, the tail has been carefully removed, engines wrapped in plastic, a tent and heavy equipment can be seen as well. Walt’s plane has been storage for years. Before that, it was visible at Hollywood Studios during the former backlot tour. For the aviation nerd out there like me, Walt’s plane is a Grumman G-159 Gulfstream I. The current plan calls for the plane to be restored so it can be put on display at the upcoming D23 Expo at an exhibit called Mickey Mouse One: Walt’s Plane.

Will you be attending D23 in person or simply following it online? We’re curious to know!
