Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Bob Chapek has just announced will open March 4, 2020 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This comes after initially failing to meet the planned Fall 2019 launch date.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be Disney’s first attraction featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse at any Disney Park and will be located within Disney Hollywood Studio’s centerpiece, the Chinese Theater. The Chinese Theater previously hosted The Great Movie Ride from the park’s opening on May 1, 1989 through August 13, 2017.
The attraction will feature ground-breaking ride vehicles that form a train without being physically connected to each other. At times, individual train pieces will “break away” from the main train, taking guests on unique experiences then joining back into the train.
Another unique and amazing feature of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be the bright and cartoonish paint used throughout the set and train itself. I believe the effect is enhanced through the use of ultraviolet light which really brings the cartoon effect to life!
So there you have it – Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opening date has been announced – Coming March 4, 2020!
