Each month of the year at Disney World offers something unique. Using our crowd calendar helps you plan the perfect time for your next visit.
* FastPass+ reservations begin 60 days prior to the date if you are staying on property at a Disney Resort. If you are staying off property in Orlando, you can make FastPass+ reservations 30 days prior to your arrival.
** Dining reservations begin 180 days prior to the date if you are staying on property at a Disney Resort.
What time of year is Disney World least crowded?
While it’s true that for the past several years Disney World has gotten busier and busier leading to shorter off-seasons, there are still a few optimal times to avoid peak crowds. Here are the least crowded times at Disney World:
- After New Years until February.
- All of September.
- The first half of December.
What time of year is Disney World most crowded?
The most crowded times at Disney World are on holidays. The most crowded holidays are:
- New Years Eve
- February Vacation
- April Vacation / Easter
- 4th of July
In addition to holidays, the busiest months at Disney World are:
During these times it can be difficult to get resort accommodations, FastPass+ reservations, and dining reservations. There will also be long lines in all of the parks.
What is the best month to visit Disney World?
September is the least crowded month. The typical temperature in September is 73° – 90° Fahrenheit.
January gets an honorable mention as it is the second least crowded month. The typical temperature for Disney World in January is 49° – 71° Fahrenheit.
What is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?
If you’d like to celebrate a holiday at Walt Disney World, we recommend Christmas, New Years Eve, April Vacation, and Thanksgiving. Keep in mind the parks are going to be at their busiest during these peak times.
If you’d like to save time, money, or just simply want to avoid peak crowds, we recommend travelling during the off-season times to get the most bang for your buck. On our calendar above, these dates would be anything in a shade of green. More specifically: most of January, September, October, November (excluding Thanksgiving), up until mid-December.
